ACRYLIS* microscope-slide ringing sealant is used to encase a mounted specimen between a coverslip and the slide it is mounted on. ACRYLIS™ is water based to reduce solvent vapors in the laboratory. It dries to a clear, hard, long-wearing, waterproof barrier with good adhesion to glass. It allows for moisture migration from water-based mounting mediums, such as Hoyer's and PVA, from within a mounted slide out to the external environment, speeding the drying time of the mounting medium while maintaining an effective barrier against molds and bacteria. It is also compatible with solvent-based mounting mediums, such as Euparal, Canada, Balsam, and PVC. It is easy to apply and comes in a range of bottle sizes and in convenient brush-bottle and brush-pen configurations. Use all appropriate safety measures when working with ACRYLIS™ sealant. Refer to the relevant safety data sheet(s).
